Step 1: Turn off your iPhone. Remove the two #000 Phillips head screws or pentalobe screws

Step 2: Locate the two 3.6mm Pentalobe or #000 screws near the dock connection. Remove these two screws.

Step 3: Use a suction cap or your fingers to slide the rear panel toward the top of your iPhone 4. Once it has moved 2-3mm lift the rear panel away being careful not to damage the small clips.

Step 4: Use the 2.5mm Phillips screwdriver to remove the single screw connecting the battery to the logic board. Gently pry up the battery connector using one of the plastic tools. Pay extra care when removing the battery connector from the logic board.
